Why we miss it so much
Have you ever wondered why we miss the 90s so much? Is it Nostalgia? is it because things were so much simpler for us kids born in the 90s?
It could be Nostalgia, but I think for me and other kids from the 90s we miss being kids, watching Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney Channel during it’s prime. Also it could be that Chuck E Cheese was the best place to be back in those days! I constantly begged my mom to take me there haha.
I definitely miss places like Blockbuster and Hollywood Videos, going there to rent a movie was one of the most fun things about the 90s, don’t forget buying VHS’s to watch and trying to rewind the movie but then it ends up breaking ( Wasn’t that awful though? )
Let’s not forget Arcade games, now going to a pizza shop such as Papa Gino’s or Pizza Hut and wanting to play them! How about playing Sega Genesis (Still have) and Nintendo Entertainment System NES (we had that ) Super Nintendo, Game Gear, Sega Saturn, Gameboy, PlayStation, and a whole bunch that was out back then! What about trying to constantly beat Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Mortal Kombat, Streets Of Rage, Echo, Castlevania, Golden Axe, Vectorman. and so many more Sega Games out there that I tried beating!
The tv shows back in the day were pretty awesome too, like Family Matters, Full House, Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper, Sister, Sister, Smart Guy. Boy Meets World, Living Single, In Living Color, Moesha, The Parent’Hood, Martin, The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, and so many more shows that I loved as a kid. I really shouldn’t have watching some of them but hey it was the 90s right?
I also think that we miss those days because things weren’t so bad or we thought it wasn’t cause we were just kids when the OJ Simpson Trial thing happened I remember when people on the internet got mad at us for not remembering the whole thing but I was only like 4 years old I wouldn’t have remembered it at all, but as I got older I researched about it and such.
A part of us right now is probably just thinking about how much we want to go back to those days, for me I’d want to only because my Grandfather and Younger Uncle would be alive, being a kid something I do miss sometimes…just watching cartoons and going to the mall to buy a toy was something special and let’s not forget that the music back then was so great, the feeling of hearing and singing your favorite song on the radio so amazing!
All we have now of the 90s is memories, old toys, old games, old photos of family who have passed on, it really makes me smile when I remember things from the 90s, gives me such a wonderful nostalgia feeling of how my life as a kid used to be!
